Our International Markets are focused on delivering the H-D strategy to build the next generation of riders, these markets support creating and fulfilling the dreams of our existing and the new riders. The International Market is made up of diverse locations within our Emerging and Developed Markets across nearly 900 dealers in circa 95 countries and is part of the larger Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

From Singapore to South Africa and many places in between, our employees are essential to our success. The emerging markets region represents sales, marketing and many other associated activities of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company across nearly 500 dealers in circa 80 countries and is part of the larger International Region of Harley-Davidson Motor Company. The team works closely with the local regional office and the wider organisation including the Company Headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA).
Job Summary
The Lead Marketing think strategically, are analytical and detail oriented. Sales-focused, creative and curious / influential with the ability to adapt quickly (agility) to changing market and internal dynamics. Must have good-people skills and be able to interact with many levels of dealers, customers and internal team members. Natural confidence in public speaking and story-telling. Being a team player who excels under pressure and is results / KPI driven is important. Passionate about motorcycling and brands.
Job Responsibilities
  • Works closely with the Product Planning and Sales Operations team to gain an understanding of new and existing product offerings and sales trends to inform product positioning, asset localization / creation and promotional activity to drive retail sales.
  • This position drives the marketing process from concept or localization of Central Marketing assets through production and delivery of assets (print and digital) to ensure availability of quality tools and materials.
  • Implement National Marketing plans for Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) region with close communication with Dealers, local Sales Operations and International / Central Marketing teams.
  • Leads others through influence to ensure the proper execution of all marketing activities, including project assignments, distributing workload and ensuring consistent day-to-day work flow and tactical guidance.
  • Scope of work includes the management of various marketing activities including KPI performance, Agencies / Suppliers, Digital updates, Public Relations and Influencer planning, Social Media, Translations, Dealer Marketing, Events, CRM, Consumer Experience / HOG (Harley Owners Group) community and Ridership Programs.

Required

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience

  • Awareness / experience of the motorcycle industry or retail automotive sector

  • Digital marketing analytical skills, Event management, Social Media, CRM planning and PR skills

  • Excellent facilitation, presentation and written communication skills

  • Project planning and complex problem-solving experience

  • Retail sales / KPI results driven


Preferred

  • Strong relationship building capability

  • Understanding of the Consumer journey / customer focussed

  • Riding license preferred

  • Presentation / public speaking skills

  • Ability to work in a team

  • Media / influencer relationships and skills (Media training preferred)

  • Budget and Supplier / Agency management experience

  • Automotive experience preferred but Lifestyle brand experience also fine.
