Job Description Our IT mission is to transform the way technology is delivered to customers and colleagues across the world with the emphasis on simplicity, mobility, and efficiency. Data and Analytics will be central to enabling our colleagues to focus more on our customers and increasing revenue by providing innovative and deeper insights into our customers, as well as the ability to use these insights to personalise the customer journey across channels.

This is a great opportunity to work as a Data Analyst in a dynamic data and analytics team responsible for determining the global Sage Data strategy and driving adoption of, and insight into, Sage’s centralised data assets including big data sets such as Product telemetry, customer sentiment and click-data and uniting this with master customer and product data. This role will expose the Data Analyst to leading edge technologies and infrastructure with the opportunity to establish skills in big data, data science and new analytical methodologies.

The Data Analyst will be responsible for understanding business processes in relation to the data and supporting systems that underpin these processes. The Data Analyst will gather data and BI requirements for initiatives and projects using their knowledge of the as-is to model the data and integrations according to the requirements and target architecture. The Data Analyst will act as an SME and perform deep-dive analysis and identify any data issues as and when required.
Key Responsibilities Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
 Provide Data Analysis expertise across all business priority initiatives through data analysis and insights
 Act as the interface between the Business Analysts and the Architecture and Delivery teams on all data requirements
 Collaborate with the Data and Analytics team to design and develop solutions by providing the data needs aligned to the business requirements
 Carry-out data profiling and identify data integrity and quality challenges
 Answer urgent business questions through deep dive analytics
 Support data users across the business in their data analysis and challenge and guide the business in more advanced analytics (predictive, propensity etc.)
 Develop, maintain and publish Data Analytics standards and practices
Skills, know-how and experience:
 Driven, analytical mind seeking to utilize skills to develop actionable insights from data to solve business problems
 Persistent, detail-oriented, curious, fast learner with experience in data analytics, modelling, prediction, and visualization.
 Strong communication skills, with can-do attitude; ability to convey complex information in understandable terms.
 Significant Experience in a similar role
 Expert SQL skills, and JSON experience
 Knowledge of databases – relational and unstructured
 Experience with BI/data visualisation tools (Qlik, PowerBI etc.)
 An inquisitive mind supported by sound business acumen, focused on addressing and solving data and analytical problems within a commercial context
 Desire to learn and adopt new analytical techniques and methodologies
 Desire to learn new big data, data science, machine learning etc. skills
Key performance indicators: (3-5 Max)
 Accurate, detailed and timely estimates
 Detailed data requirements for projects
 Data mapping documents (IMDs)
 Data dictionaries and other assets
 Assigned tasks completed to time and quality
 Training in relevant disciplines
 Adherence to standards Technical / professional qualifications:
 Degree in a subject with some numerate aspect
• Qualifications/knowledge in Data Analysis, Business Analysis and/or BI
• Qualifications/knowledge in Data and BI technologies
