Job Description The purpose of this role is to lead, support and provide analysis for strategic projects (including preparation of company statutory financial statements) or initiatives within Financial Accounting, Reporting and Controls.
Key Responsibilities Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
• Key project lead for the preparation and project management of company financial statements to ensure prepared, audited and filed with Companies House on time
• Undertaking financial analysis (e.g. scenario modelling); identifying key insights; and presenting findings into digestible format such as short written papers
• Supporting with the preparation of board papers and other similar documents for senior audiences
• Collaborating with the Tax and Treasury as required to ensure that accounting and control practices are coordinated with the Tax and Treasury strategy
• Supporting the building, maintaining and enhancing of a globally consistent set of financial controls
• Supporting the preparation and analysis of the financial statements and related notes for external reporting at the interim and year end including the Annual Report & Accounts
• Participating in wider finance projects in Commercial Finance, Treasury, M&A as required.
• Assistance with month end reporting.

Skills, know-how and experience:
Must have:
• Up to 2 years PQE
• Demonstrate strong accounting skills and technical knowledge on financial reporting matters
• Outstanding analytical and financial interpretation skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, managing multiple stakeholders whilst retaining attention to detail
• Adaptable working style, ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity, ask incisive questions and take a structured approach to problem-solving
• Strong networking and interpersonal skills
• Prior experience in preparation of company financial statements a plus

Preferred:
• Advanced user of excel, with excellent skills in financial modelling
• Experience within large corporate organisations
• Prior experience working in a professional services firm

Technical / professional qualifications:
• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA)
