Tetra Pak South Africa is looking for a Marketing Executive who will report directly to the Marketing Director based in Johannesburg. The Marketing Executive will be responsible for delivering an integrated customer marketing approach, including products & services deployment plan with assigned customers, leading planning & execution through key account teams. Defines business opportunities for market/customer, based on consolidating and analysing broad set of market data. Deploys marketing services program as suitable per customer. Ensures voice of market represented with Cluster and Global teams. Leads marketing activities for a key account, interfaces with KAM team and responsible for Marketing Services, Promotional Investment and New Product Introduction.

Key responsibilities of the role are:

Develop integrated understanding of market opportunities, cluster initiatives focus and apply to customer business

• Deliver in depth understanding market trends to identify further business opportunities for assigned customers
• Gather, synthesize and apply (from cluster and global teams) multi-level understanding of the value chain and strengthen relationship to customer's marketing team and secure strategic alignment
• Support and influence MC strategic plan with customers, identify customer needs and support KAM/customer team in line with business strategy, category, portfolio
• Drive sharing of global trends and value adding innovation with the customer
• Facilitate portfolio positioning understanding and identify opportunities for deployment
• Promotional investment budget management and compliance for assigned customers
• Provide input to future intelligence requirements for market & liaise with cluster business intelligence to support research projects as needed.

Support account-level marketing plan development in alignment with cluster initiatives

• Identify customer growth opportunities from product category perspective (targets & objectives) for MC
• Support on the development of a product & services deployment plan for each account in alignment with cluster initiative plan
• Participate in developing actions and initiatives, marketing activities, marketing services and promotional investment
• Support account teams with articulating value propositions based on value chain profit analysis and value research
• Customer satisfaction for assigned customers

Support account-level marketing plan execution in alignment with cluster and market initiatives

• Present market-based growth opportunities to customers
• Develop and implement tailored marketing services programs for customers
• Package design, market research, channel strategy, product deployment, marketing planning for customers

Market Value Expert

• Run Value Research projects to support the Market Business Deployment Plan
• Support Key Account Teams in performing Value Calculation/Documentation
• Provide guidance for the Key Account Teams to create optimal Value Propositions based on Customer Value
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree -Commercial/Marketing /Economics disciplines
• An Honours or master’s degree will be an advantage
• Minimum 5 years working experience in similar role within an FMCG company
• A relevant marketing experience with strong commercial acumen is required
• Must have worked with brand planning/execution and managing brand budgets
• Ability to work within a marketing team with a certain level of creativity
• Analytical and logical skills required
• Energetic, curious personality - ability to enjoy looking for information & focus on details
• Advanced MS Office PowerPoint and Excel ability is required
• Mobility - must be willing to travel internationally and locally
• Valid driver’s license and passport required
• Good communication skills
• Strategic Thinker
• Must be fluent in English

Main Purpose of the Job
To give professional support to a range of MPM activities in the market company. Engages primarily in internal stakeholder communication and on occasions with customers
Key Responsibilities
1. Training on the job related to marketing services / portfolio management

2. Training on the job related to our product portfolio and the role /contribution of different functions

3. Develop Self

4. Support specific MPM topics within defined area

5. Participate in MPM projects related to local market (incl with customers)

6. Support MPM data collection, research activities and reporting systems (internal and external)
Critical Experience
Requires minimum 3 years experience in case of external hire
Minimum Education
Masters degree or equivalent (pref Engineering and/or MBA)
